The organisations that have opted to implement a Quality Management System based on the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 standard, find they need to establish a Quality Policy and to ensure that that is disseminated and understood within the organisation.
The Quality Policy summarises and establishes the mission and vision of an organisation aimed at the expectations of its customers and at the commitment to its quality objectives. It sets out the directives and objectives by which the implementing organisation must abide.
A clear and precise wording of the Quality Policy will help the organisation to better coordinate and target their efforts, facilitating that the whole workforce collaborates and works towards a single goal, customer satisfaction.
The Quality Policy of the Ertzaintza [Basque Police Force] is based on these principles:
- Assistance to citizens, who are the focus and purpose of the public service provided by the Ertzaintza.
- A commitment to human capital, its motivation and implication, training and development. The professionalism of the Ertzaintza is a distinctive element of recognition, proven within parts of the Basque Society.
- The optimisation and capitalisation on resources by means of process management and improvement.
- A guarantee of consistency in the actions of the Ertzaintza in respect of citizens, regardless of location, Officer responsible or recipient of the action.
